The future of UK music festivals

Festival organisers are urged to take part in a Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) enquiry, which will specifically look at what support is needed for UK music festivals to return in 2021 [open link].

A DCMS select committee enquiry has been launched, with submissions required by December 9.

MPs are going to look at long-term challenges for the festival market and how Public Health uncertainty will present further risk for organisers.

Festival organisers are asked to submit evidence to the committee. The DCMS is looking for details of economic and cultural contributions, impact of cancellations on local economies, the risks to festivals taking place in 2021, whether the Culture Recovery Fund has had a positive impact, what further measures Government can provide and changes anticipated.
